Chickenpox Symptoms
Chickenpox symptoms are quite easy to spot. Let’s take a look at what are the physical symptoms of chickenpox:
A person who has chickenpox will usually be sick with headache, fever, stomach ache, and also a loss of appetite. This happens a day or two before breaking out with the chickenpox rash. These symptoms will usually last from 2 to 4 days after breaking out.
An average of 250 to 500 small, itchy, fluid-filled blisters will then develop over red spots on the skin. First the blisters appear on the face, torso, or scalp. They then spread to the arms and legs. One of the main chickenpox symptoms are noted by finding blisters on the scalp.
After a couple of days, you will find that the blisters start becoming cloudy, and then develop into sores, which finally end up a scab. During the same time however, new crops of blisters will continue to develop.
Chickenpox can often also appear in the mouth, in the vagina, and on the eyelids too.
A child that suffers from other skin problems such as eczema may get more than 1,500 chickenpox blisters. Chickenpox does not leave will not leave scars unless the scars become contaminated with bacteria from scratching.
If you suspect that you or your child shows strong signs of chickenpox symptoms, contact your doctor as soon as possible to avoid the risk of developing complications or spreading the disease to other children of adults.
